Meeker-McLeod-Sibley partners with local farm-to-school forager

February 14th, 2011

Through SHIP, schools in Sibley County have access to a unique resource to help them grow their farm-to-school program. Casey Walters is working as a local forager, available to area schools participating in SHIP. A farm-to-school forager is someone who can help the schools find locally grown foods to serve in their school food programs. We are excited to have Casey on board with SHIP through June 30, 2011.

While Casey is with us, she is also creating a directory of local farmers interested in selling their products to schools. If you are intersted in being a part of this directory, please contact Casey at rick0152@umn.edu .
